The four ATTA directors
The course will be taught by four highly qualified and experienced teacher trainers working in collaboration as co-directors of the training. Other teachers will also contribute particular skills to the training.



The Teachers
 
Carolyne Jamieson
B.A. Grad Dip Tchg, Dip Gest Psyc, U.K.Stat Cert 1984, M ATTSNZ qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique from Alexander Technique Associates, London in 1984. She has qualifications in classical dance and Laban movement studies as well as speech and drama. She has recently completed training in Gestalt psychotherapy. Carolyne has worked in private practice, with introductory and specialized groups, run residential courses, and trained teachers in London, Sydney and Wellington. From 1989 until 1995 Carolyne was assistant and co-director of the Centre for Alexander Technique Studies in Sydney. From 2001 until 2004 she established and directed WATTS, the first Stat. affiliated and NZQA recognized teacher training school in New Zealand. Carolyne currently works as an Alexander Teacher and Gestalt therapist in Wellington and Kapiti
Emile van der Mespel
Emile van der Mespel graduated fromSydney Alexander Teacher Training School in 1988. Since then Emile has furthered his studies in the UK & US. He worked at the NZ Drama School and was the Assistant Director of the first internationally certified NZ teacher training course, WATTS. Currently he runs a private teaching practice and also teaches at the NZ School of Music.
Michael Keall
PhD, BA (Hons), Stat Cert 1991, graduated from the Centre for Alexander Technique Studies, Sydney in 1991. He and Teresa pursued post-graduate study in London with senior teachers. They established a private practice in Wellington in 1992. Michael has a PhD in injury prevention, LTCL and Performers' Diploma in piano performance and has worked professionally as a pianist in concerts and radio broadcasts. He also works as an injury epidemiologist at the Wellington School of Medicine. Michael is a member of the Australian society, AUSTAT and the NZ society, ATTSNZ.

Teresa Neches
MA, BA, DipTESOL also trained at the Centre for Alexander Studies, Sydney, graduating in 1991. Following post-graduate study in London, she has taught in Wellington since 1992 apart from eight months' teaching together with Michael in Spain and the UK in 1995-96. Teresa has a degree in journalism, a postgraduate diploma in teaching a second language and a Masters degree in applied linguistics. Teresa and Michael regularly run introductory courses in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Porirua and Kapiti, including courses for musicians and people suffering from (or in danger of suffering from) OOS/RSI. Teresa is a member of the UK-based society, STAT and the NZ teachers' society, ATTSNZ.
